Through the great leadership our Board of Directors provided at our annual meeting in Scottsdale in November and visionary leadership of our Executive Committee (EC), CASE, Inc has had some major breakthroughs so far this year! The following is just a sampling of what has been happening this year:
Eight power point presentations on specific areas of IDEA 2004 were developed by the Policy and Legislative Committee and placed on the CASE website for download and use by CASE members
Several on-line surveys have provided invaluable input for EC decisions
The first ever CASE audio-web conference on IDEA 2004 was held within 55 days of the law being signed by the President!
Testimony on the upcoming rule making of IDEA 2004 was developed and given at six of the seven OSERS/OSEP hearings (OH, MA, CA, GA, WY, DC).
A pilot membership drive was implemented in Nebraska which included Nebraska special education administrators in the state administrator umbrella organization - NE members paid one fee for their membership in CEC/CASE/NASES/NASE
CASE actively participated in the LD Roundtable to produce recommendations for OSEP on SLD rules.
A six member task force has been established to carefully study the future of CASE and answer the question, What will it take to for CASE to continue to be the premier organization for special education leaders?
